Administrator Wanted in Cape Town at The Haven Night Shelter Organisation | R9000 p/m
The Haven Night Shelter Organisation (www.haven.org.za), a non –governmental organisation working to help the homeless back to a home, family, and community, require an Administrator to provide support to the Head Office. The Administrator will be based at the Head Office, 2 Napier Street, Cape Town.
The Haven is currently looking for an Administrator to be a supportive force at the Head Office. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
This person should have experience working in an office environment, performing administrative duties with progressive responsibility. Given the dynamic nature of the organisation, we rely on the incumbent to be flexible and consistent.
The Administrator will report to the Operations Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric Certificate and an Administration Certificate or any relevant qualification.
- At least three years’ experience in an administrative position OR equivalent related work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences and professional email etiquette.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and ability to learn applications and technology.
- Understanding procurement processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is imperative.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Ability to manage conflict situations.
- Being prepared to work outside normal working hours.
- Experience in the NGO sector will be an advantage.
- Code 08 driver’s licence -manual (non-negotiable).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the Client Relations Database is maintained.
- Assisting with the administration of the Microsoft 365 portal.
- Managing the switchboard.
- Taking messages and making sure messages despatched timeously.
- Welcoming guests • Ensuring that the guest receiving area and boardroom is always clean.
- Replenishment of all Office supplies.
- Responsible to ensure all office equipment is in working order e.g. printers.
- Ordering of Stationery.
- Assisting with event planning and execution.
- Prepare and draft correspondence and communications as required.
- Provide office support to the Senior Managers and the CEO when required • Assist with other projects as assigned/ as needed.

- Salary Package: R9 000. 00.
