Student Advisor wanted in Johannesburg and Cape Town at Richfield
To provide guidance, support, and information to prospective and current students throughout their
academic journey, ensuring they have the resources and assistance needed to succeed. The Student
Advisor is responsible for assisting with programme enquiries, admissions processes, and student
services, while promoting a positive and engaging student experience. The role contributes to student
retention, satisfaction, and overall success by offering personalised advice, addressing concerns, and
facilitating access to institutional support.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective and current students, providing accurate and
timely information on programmes, admissions, and student services - Guide students through the application, enrolment, and registration processes
- Monitor and support student progress, identifying and addressing academic or personal
challenges - Assist students with course selection, programme requirements, and career guidance
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions in the CRM or student management system
- Respond to student enquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels
professionally and efficiently - Collaborate with academic departments and support services to ensure a seamless student
experience - Identify trends or
- recurring issues and escalate or recommend improvements to management
- Support student engagement and retention initiatives through proactive communication and
follow-up - Ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Student Support, or a
related field - 1–3 years’ experience in student support, academic advising, or customer service (higher
education experience advantageous) - Knowledge of student lifecycle, admissions, and retention strategies
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and motivational support to students
- Basic administrative and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with CRM or student management systems (advantageous)
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a student-centered environment
