Remote Operations & Admin Assistant Job Opportunity at Brilliant By Night | US Hours
We’re a small, fast-growing home services business in the United States that installs permanent holiday lighting in Colorado and Nebraska. We like to say our lights illuminate life’s moments — but behind the scenes, great systems and organization make everything work.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organized, sharp, numbers-comfortable administrative assistant who enjoys bringing order to chaos and improving how things run. You’ll communicate directly with customers, manage scheduling and data, and help keep our operations running smoothly — especially during our busy season. This is an independent contractor role with no benefits, but with long-term potential and increasing responsibility for the right person.
Work hours: 5:00pm – 2:00am SAST
We’re hiring one person now, with plans to add another team member mid-year.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Communicating with customers via phone and text (English)
- Scheduling installations and managing calendars
- Keeping customer data clean, accurate, and up to date
- Confirming appointments, handling reschedules, and following up
- Helping to handle customer issues with their lights
- Spotting problems before they become issues
- Helping improve systems, workflows, and processes
- Supporting day-to-day operations so installs run smoothly
This Role Is a Great Fit If You…
- Are extremely organized (this is the #1 skill)
- Are comfortable with numbers, tracking, and systems
- Learn quickly and don’t need step-by-step instructions forever
- Like improving processes, not just following them
- Communicate clearly and calmly with customers
- Enjoy working with a small business where your work actually matters
- Are tech-comfortable (CRMs, calendars, spreadsheets, online tools)
Please Don’t Apply If…
- You want a very formal, corporate environment
- You need to be managed and tracked to make sure you are getting things done
- You only want to do exactly what you’re told and nothing more
- You dislike phone calls or customer interaction
- You struggle with organization or attention to detail
- You’re looking for a short-term or “clock-in, clock-out” role
- You’re uncomfortable working US hours
Requirements
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Confidence speaking with customers on the phone
- Experience in admin, operations, scheduling, or customer-facing roles
- Reliable internet and a quiet work environment
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience working with US-based companies
- Operations, logistics, or home services experience
- CRM or scheduling software experience
- Interest in learning how a small business grows and operates
