Jem is hiring a Sales Development Representative to generate qualified opportunities for our revenue team by prospecting, engaging, and booking meetings with potential employer customers.

Jem is a fast-growing HR tech scale-up building payroll, HR, and benefits tools for frontline teams. We support deskless workforces across South Africa and are scaling rapidly.

This is an entry-level to early-career commercial role focused on pipeline creation. You will be responsible for opening new conversations, qualifying prospects, and consistently delivering high-quality meetings into the sales team.

⭐️  Your Mission 

  • Create a strong and consistent flow of qualified sales opportunities.
  • Prospect into the market, engage decision-makers, and book meetings that convert into revenue.

  • A consistent volume of qualified outbound meetings booked each month
  • A healthy, accurate, and well-managed CRM and pipeline
  • High show rates and strong meeting-to-opportunity conversion

  • Strong internal reputation for quality leads and reliable execution

  • Prospect into target accounts through cold calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, and research
  • Identify and qualify potential employer customers
  • Run discovery conversations to understand business needs and pain points
  • Book meetings for Account Executives and support handover into the sales process
  • Follow up on leads and nurture early-stage prospects
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of activity, notes, and pipeline
  • Report on activity levels, meeting volume, and conversion metrics
  • Attend events and networking sessions to generate leads
  • Share structured feedback from the market with the sales and product teams

⭐️ Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in B2B, SaaS, or technology sales
  • Proven ability to generate and qualify new leads
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using CRM tools, ideally HubSpot
  • Comfort working in a startup or scale-up environment
  • Strong work ethic and commission-driven mindset
