Location: Remote — candidates based in Durban, South Africa preferred. Type: Full-time (165–172 hours per month). Salary: ZAR 25,000–30,000 per month (depending on level and experience, with clear progression).
About the role
We are seeking a sharp, proactive operator to work directly with the founder of a growing digital marketing agency. This full-time role is suited to someone who wants significant responsibility early and is motivated by helping a business scale. You will sit at the centre of the business — coordinating clients, campaigns, internal work and light operations — so the founder can focus on growth, strategy and sales. This is a build-with-me role rather than a narrowly defined job; as the company grows and your scope increases, compensation will be reviewed and adjusted.
Core responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day client communication and campaign coordination
- Keep marketing campaigns progressing across email, creative, paid and SEO initiatives
- Help shape briefs, ideas and overall campaign direction
- Sense-check copy, creative and strategy prior to execution
- Act as an internal organiser across tasks, timelines and priorities
- Support light operations such as invoicing follow-ups and internal tracking
- Flag issues early and propose practical solutions rather than waiting for direction
- Serve as a trusted second brain to the founder
Experience & profile
- 1–2 years’ experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role (agency, startup, marketing, operations, account management or similar)
- Comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong communicator with clients and internal stakeholders
- Proactive, organised and able to think independently
- Quick learner who enjoys ownership
- You do not need to be an expert in everything — good judgement and accountability matter more
