Remote Social Media & Customer Service Coordinator Job Vacancy in SA at Ultaca LLC | R22 000 p/m

Spread the love

Ultaca LLC is the US-based company behind Door Buddy — the brand that invented the no-cut cat door back in 2015 and now helps over a million households give their cats space, keep dogs out of the litter box, and make homes a little safer for curious toddlers. We’re a small, tight-knit remote team that cares a lot about our customers and the pets and families they look after.

We’re hiring a Social Media & Customer Service Coordinator to own two of the things that keep our brand loved: the content we put out, and the way we look after our customers. It’s a hands-on role for someone who’s genuinely great at creating content — especially short- and long-form video — comfortable communicating with customers all day (by email and social inboxes; this role has no phone calls), and excited to work alongside AI tools to move faster.

This is the kind of role where reliability and follow-through matter as much as talent — so if you take pride in showing up consistently and owning your work, you’ll fit right in.

About us

Door Buddy isn’t just a pet product — it’s a solution pet parents reach for the moment a new puppy starts raiding the litter box, or a curious toddler discovers the cat’s space. We design and assemble our products in the USA, we stand behind them with a 90-day money-back guarantee, and we talk to our customers like the fellow pet lovers they are. Warm, helpful, and real — never corporate.

What you’ll do

Social media (content + community)

  • Create excellent content — especially short- and long-form video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts, plus longer YouTube how-tos / explainers) — plus photos and graphics that bring Door Buddy to life for cat, dog, and baby-safety households. A lot of this is turning raw footage from customers, influencers, and UGC creators into polished, on-brand content.
  • Plan, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Google Business Profile (we use a social scheduling tool for this).
  • Manage the community daily — reply to comments and DMs, spark conversations, and keep our online presence active and friendly.
  • Find and coordinate influencers and UGC creators — both directly and through partnership platforms (such as Pupfluence) — to extend our reach and grow our content library.

Paid advertising creative

  • Partner with our Marketing Director to turn marketing briefs into advertising creatives for paid campaigns on Meta, Google, Amazon, and other channels — static and video assets that may look, feel, and sound a little different from our organic content.

Customer service

  • Communicate with customers by email and across our social and marketplace inboxes (Shopify, Walmart, Amazon). This role has no phone calls — it’s written communication.
  • Look up orders and process refunds/replacements in Shopify, following our CS workflows and reply-script knowledge base.
  • Manage and respond to website, Google, and Amazon reviews.
  • Keep our tone consistent, warm, and solution-focused — our customer service is a big part of why people trust the brand.

Email & marketing support

  • Support day-to-day email and newsletter work (alongside our Marketing Director, who owns the platform).
  • Design supporting visuals and assets using tools like Canva, CapCut, or similar content and video-creation tools.

You’ll work closely with our marketing team and coordinate with our Amazon/channel lead — a genuinely supportive group.

What makes you a great fit

Must-haves

  • Excellent video content creation — especially editing. You have a strong creative eye and can take existing footage from customers, influencers, and UGC creators and turn it into scroll-stopping short- and long-form video. Original filming is a plus, but the heart of this role is vision and editing — building great content from the assets we already have. A portfolio or reel is required.
  • Comfort and skill with AI tools — we use AI daily to work smarter, and Claude experience is strongly preferred. You’re curious about AI and quick to adopt new tools.
  • Strong customer service instincts — clear, warm, professional written communication and genuine care for getting people to a good outcome.
  • Reliability and consistency. You deliver your full weekly hours dependably and communicate proactively. (This matters to us — please only apply if you can commit to consistent full-time hours.)
  • Solid social media experience across the major platforms, ideally 2+ years.
  • A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a dedicated, quiet workspace.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with social scheduling, email marketing, or e-commerce customer service tools.
  • Experience creating paid advertising creatives for Meta, Google, or Amazon.
  • A love of pets (you’ll be creating content about cats and dogs all day).
  • Matric plus a certificate or diploma in marketing, social media, or a related field.

Hours & working style

  • Full-time: 35–40 hours per week. This is a full-time commitment, not a side gig — we need someone we can count on for consistent hours every week.
  • At least 20 of your 40 hours must overlap with USA Central Time business hours so customers get timely responses during US daytime.
  • Within those parameters, you set your own schedule — but we’ll expect you to keep to the hours you set, so the team can plan around them.
  • Light weekend monitoring: a quick daily check of the customer service and social inboxes over the weekend to catch and handle any urgent issues. Not full weekend shifts — just enough that nothing urgent sits unanswered.
  • Fully remote, based in South Africa.
