Qualifications & Experience Required

  • After reviewing the current openings, I can conclude that you do not need a degree. However, all applicants must have a high school diploma – of course, it doesn’t hurt to have tertiary qualifications.
  • For most positions, candidates need to have at least two years of experience working in a corporate setting.
  • All applicants need to have exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

Tools & Materials that are Required

myVA360 expects all applicants to have the necessary equipment as outlined in the job description. This is what you need to have:

  • Access to high-speed internet (it is in your best interest to possibly have unlimited Fibre)
  • A reliable computer that is up-to-date. Taken from The Guardian’s technology section, experts recommend a laptop that is a 9th or 10th generation Intel i5 or i7 processor and a minimum of 8GB of RAM.

Pros of working for myVA360

A majority of what myVA360 advertises is what would appeal to businesses rather than employees – the VAs. Here is what you could gain as a potential myVA360 employee.

Remote Working:

Everything about the company is done solely online. As a VA, you will complete all tasks from the comfort of your home – or wherever you would like. There is no stress of daily commuting and the worry of petrol increases.

Set Your Own Working Hours:

As well as working remotely, you also get to set your working hours. As mentioned before, businesses will select the number of hours they require a VA for. You will be contracted to work those hours in whatever way you see fit. How you allocate your time and schedule your tasks is up to you. Please note that some positions will require you to work according to the company’s time zone, so this does not apply.

Performance Based Bonuses:

On top of your salary, you will be paid a bonus based on your performance. This will be reported to myVA360 by the business you are contracted to. Work hard and be rewarded accordingly!

Get Paid in Dollars:

As a South African, that is one of the most enticing pros any company could offer. As of recently, the exchange rate is R19.19 to a dollar. Outstanding! If you strike out with getting a company that requires the maximum amount of work, that could be in your favour. The exchange rate (when it is as good as it is) can make your salary quite substantial.

Cons of Working for myVA360

With the company focusing its efforts on bringing in more business, not enough is being done to entice prospective employees.

Contract Work:

Contractual work means that you will only be called upon when there is work available. There is no guaranteed steady flow of opportunities. This may not be an issue for freelancers who have other forms of income, but if you are going to rely solely on myVA360 for an income, it will not yield the greatest results.

No Career Growth:

In a company like myVA360, where the only positions available are virtual assistants, it is quite impossible for you to work to the ‘next stage’ in your career. myVA360 does not have senior positions, so you would be working in the same position at the same level throughout your time at myVA360.

No Fringe Benefits:

Fringe benefits are additional benefits offered to employees over and above their salaries. Unfortunately, myVA360 does not offer any. I think that this con is particularly unfortunate because you can’t even rely on your salary to provide benefits for yourself, as you are not guaranteed a consistent income.
