Mission/Function of the role:
Siemens (Pty) Ltd. is looking to hire a junior events co-ordinator, who will be based at the Johannesburg headquarter office. The incumbent will be part of the communications team, responsible for strategically planning and managing internal and external business-related events; in addition to taking on tasks that will assist the communications team.
What are the responsibilities of the role?
- Should be able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
- Has ability to deliver events within the agreed events budget, time and quality parameters.
- Has the ability to create and manage an annual events calendar by identifying all events for the year.
- Engages with internal stakeholders to determine event requirements.
- Develops briefing details for events and manages co-ordination of events with external vendors.
- Guides vendors/ external stakeholders on creative event ideas, concepts and logistics.
- Manages and coordinates the logistics and communications (save the date, invitations, teasers etc.) of events.
- Can manage and control the RSVP management and registration processes.
- Managing marketing merchandise and collateral.
- Manages the service delivery and standards of service external vendors to ensure the successfully delivery on the event brief.
- Liaise with various branding, marketing and communications teams to promote the event and manage promotional activities.
- Assists internal and external stakeholders with on-site event support and co-ordinates service providers to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Communications, public relations, hospitality management or relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum experience: 1 – 2 years

- Proven experience as event coordinator ( 1 – 2 years experiences).
