Mission/Function of the role:

Siemens (Pty) Ltd. is looking to hire a junior events co-ordinator, who will be based at the Johannesburg headquarter office.  The incumbent will be part of the communications team, responsible for strategically planning and managing internal and external business-related events; in addition to taking on tasks that will assist the communications team.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

  • Should be able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
  • Has ability to deliver events within the agreed events budget, time and quality parameters.
  • Has the ability to create and manage an annual events calendar by identifying all events for the year.
  • Engages with internal stakeholders to determine event requirements.
  • Develops briefing details for events and manages co-ordination of events with external vendors.
  • Guides vendors/ external stakeholders on creative event ideas, concepts and logistics.
  • Manages and coordinates the logistics and communications (save the date, invitations, teasers etc.) of events.
  • Can manage and control the RSVP management and registration processes.
  • Managing marketing merchandise and collateral.
  • Manages the service delivery and standards of service external vendors to ensure the successfully delivery on the event brief.
  • Liaise with various branding, marketing and communications teams to promote the event and manage promotional activities.
  • Assists internal and external stakeholders with on-site event support  and co-ordinates service providers to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Communications, public relations, hospitality management or relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum experience: 1 – 2 years

  • Proven experience as event coordinator ( 1 – 2 years experiences).
  • Articulate with great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven track record of organizing successful events.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
