Health and Safety Officer Edenvale – Half Day position

Key Responsibilities – Health & Safety

  • Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and systems.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations and industry standards and conduct annual reviews.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate health and safety training, inductions and awareness programmes.
  • Maintain all health and safety files, records, registers, matrices and documentation.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external service providers as required.

Key Responsibilities – Administration & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support across departments and companies within the group.
  • Assist with document management, filing, record keeping and reporting.
  • Support management with operational projects and day-to-day business activities.
  • Assist with compliance-related administration and company procedures.
  • Perform general office administration and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A relevant occupational health and safety qualification (e.g. SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or a National Diploma in Safety Management).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in a health and safety role.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Advantageous

  • SACPCMP registration (or eligibility to register) where the role involves oversight.
  • Proficiency in Afrikaans and immediate availability would be an advantage.
