Health and Safety Officer Edenvale – Half Day position
Key Responsibilities – Health & Safety
- Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and systems.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations and industry standards and conduct annual reviews.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety audits.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate health and safety training, inductions and awareness programmes.
- Maintain all health and safety files, records, registers, matrices and documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external service providers as required.
Key Responsibilities – Administration & Operational Support
- Provide administrative support across departments and companies within the group.
- Assist with document management, filing, record keeping and reporting.
- Support management with operational projects and day-to-day business activities.
- Assist with compliance-related administration and company procedures.
- Perform general office administration and other duties as required.
Requirements
- A relevant occupational health and safety qualification (e.g. SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or a National Diploma in Safety Management).
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in a health and safety role.
- Sound working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
Advantageous
- SACPCMP registration (or eligibility to register) where the role involves oversight.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans and immediate availability would be an advantage.
