Data Processing Clerk is Hiring in Johannesburg at Gold Fields
The Data Processing Clerk is responsible for the accurate collection, capturing, processing and maintenance of operational and administrative data. The role ensures data integrity, organises and maintains records, supports reporting requirements and manages the secure filing and archiving of documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Be declared medical fit for the position and environment, as determined by risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Key Competencies:

- Sound interpersonal relations, collaboration and good communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy whilst working with large transaction volumes
- Knowledge and understanding of the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC) and the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM), with the ability to apply the relevant requirements within a metallurgical processing environment
- Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in all safety, health, environment and risk management campaigns
- Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation, health, safety, environmental, security policies, and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion
- Actively support the company’s strategies and initiatives to promote a respectful, diverse and inclusive workplace with a culture of accountability and care
- Perform general administrative duties including drafting memoranda, preparing correspondence, typing reports and supporting departmental activities
- Arrange meetings, prepare meeting documentation and record and distribute minutes where required
- Respond to routine enquiries and provide administrative assistance to the department as required by the responsible supervisor or manager
- Capture, maintain and report operational and departmental information, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of data on business systems
- Update process databases and maintain departmental records to support reporting and operational requirements.
- Assist with the preparation, publication and distribution of Power BI and other departmental reports
- Maintain departmental document control systems, including the filing, organisation, retrieval and archiving of records, procedures and employee files
- Provide administrative support for ICMC, GISTM and ISO 14001 activities, including maintaining compliance documentation, capturing inspection information and supporting audit and reporting requirements
