About the company

Our client is a premier school of blacksmithing & metal fabrication offering unique experience days for domestic and corporate clients. We’ve recently expanded our facilities and are looking to grow our corporate presence, including away days and product launches. We are a fast-moving, “7-days-a-week” business that values the personal touch and high-quality storytelling.

We also are launching a separate premium BBQ brand, and also looking to increase our metal fabrication (e.g. gates, railings, structures) business, each of which will required tailored marketing & creative solutions.

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and strategic Social Media & Growth Specialist to take our digital presence to the next level. You will be responsible for moving beyond “just posting content” to building a cohesive brand strategy that drives sales, particularly in the corporate sector. You will oversee content planning, community management, and the front-facing customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media & Content Strategy (55%)

  • Strategic Planning: Create and manage a content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, and LinkedIn.
  • Platform Mastery: Tailor content specifically for different audiences, particularly developing a professional, high-impact presence on LinkedIn for corporate clients.
  • Creative Direction: Script, storyboard, and plan shoots for freelance videographers/photographers to ensure brand consistency.
  • Post-Production: Edit provided raw footage into high-performing Reels, TikToks, and posts.
  • Performance Tracking: Analyze metrics to understand why content is or isn’t performing and pivot strategy accordingly.

2. Direct Marketing & Growth (25%)

  • Corporate Outreach: Identify and implement efficient ways to market directly to businesses within a 30-mile radius of the forge.
  • Paid Advertising: Manage and optimize paid social ads (Google/Instagram/Facebook), focusing on ROI rather than just “launching” ads.
  • Email Marketing: Build out and manage email campaigns to nurture our community (bonus skill).

3. Customer Relations & Operations (20%)

  • Front-Facing Brand Voice: Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries via email and social media.
  • Order Management: Handle basic coordination in Shopify and manage the Outlook/Google Calendar for course scheduling.
  • Personal Touch: Ensure automated communications feel personal and community-focused; manage pre-course info and post-course follow-ups.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven track record of growing social media accounts and driving actual business results (Portfolio required).
  • LinkedIn Strategy: Specific experience in B2B or corporate marketing is highly desirable.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Shopify, Outlook, Google Workspace, and scheduling software (e.g., Plannable).
  • Editing Skills: High proficiency in video editing for social-first platforms (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, etc.).
  • Communication: Exceptional written English with the ability to balance professional corporate outreach with a warm, “maker-community” tone.

Working Hours & Schedule

  • Flexibility: While mostly UK business hours, the role requires a high degree of flexibility.
  • Weekends: Light weekend work (approx. 2–3 hours) on a rotation basis to handle urgent customer queries and order confirmations.
