This 130+ year-old school is looking to fill the following school-employed position from October 2026:

Front Office Administrator

The successful candidate will play an important role in admissions administration, learner data management, front office support and general school administration. This position requires someone who is accurate, discreet, professional and able to work well in a busy school environment. This is a full-time position, with working hours from 07:30 to 16:00 on school days, or as agreed with the Principal.

Only short-listed candidates will be contacted and invited to an interview and will be taken on a tour of the school and expected to complete a practical task. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Admissions Secretary with admissions-related administrative tasks.
  • Transferring data from the WCED Admissions Portal to the school’s SMIS and following up with parents where information is incomplete.
  • Assisting with CEMIS administration, including transfer forms, registration forms, subject choices and changes, NSC registration and related data capture.
  • Assisting the Receptionist with the smooth running of the Front Office.
  • Welcoming visitors to the school and directing them appropriately.
  • Liaising telephonically and in person with parents, educators and learners as required.
  • Generating letters for study permits, passports, visas, traffic departments and similar requests.
  • Acting as Personal Assistant to the Deputy Principals when required.
  • Learning the roles and responsibilities of other Front Office team members in order to deputise for them in their absence.
  • Playing a full part in the life of the school community and supporting its mission, ethos and policies.

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially when capturing and managing data.
  • Competence in using digital systems and databases, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A confident, professional, approachable and helpful manner.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a busy front office environment, collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to assist after hours or during school holidays when required.
  • Experience in a school environment would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience with school management systems, CEMIS and/or Engage would be an advantage.
