Job Purpose:

Promotes and sells the organization’s products and services to develop new business and acquire new customers.

Responsible for meeting assigned sales targets for repairs, retrofits, hoists and other light lifting equipment, spare parts, in-house repairs, general overhauls and consultation services for assigned areas or responsibility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and sells the organizations products and services by means of calls, visits and presentations within an assigned geographic area / product range or list of customer accounts to achieve sales targets.
  • Utilises current CRM systems in the sales process efficiently and reports on leads and sales activities regularly.
  • Persues sales leads, visits existing and new customers, assesses customer needs and suggests appropriate products and services, respond to customer enquiries, negotiates prices and delivery times and concludes sales orders.
  • Identifies, researches and contacts prospective customers and builds positive relationships generating future sales and repeat business.
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions as and when required.
  • Travel to site and attend to the following:
  1. Consultation services
  2. Repairs to crane and hoists
  3. Offer service agreements
  4. Offer spare parts packages
  5. Offer solutions.
  6. Offer retro fits
  7. Offer modernizations
  8. Assist with on site designing.
  9. On site assistance with projects
  10. On site safety reviews
  11. On site business reviews
  12. On site customer complaints
  13. Cold calling for new customers.

Qualifications

Qualification/Education:

  • National Higher Diploma (NQF level 6) 
  • Valid driver’s license

Skills & Knowledge:

  • 5+ years work experience in similar environment
  • Experience in service and/or industrial equipment
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces; elevated areas and at heights
  • Must be able to travel locally and outside SA for operational requirements
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
