About the Company

Callzilla’s founders established the company in 2005, and its current headquarters are in Miami, Florida. It is an outsourcing company that operates as a call centre, serving US and European enterprises.

Enterprises hire Callzilla to handle business affairs, such as inbound customer communications, managing back-office processes, and conducting outreach.

Callzilla has over 3000 employees across the world. In 2023, Callzilla was introduced to the South African job market.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Callzilla has minimum requirements for its call centre agents. Applicants must have completed their high school diploma and have some experience within the call centre environment.

There is not much else in terms of qualifications and experience that you will need to have. This is a perfect entry-level job for someone who wants to work from home but does not have much experience.

Tools & Materials that are Required

Callzilla’s only requirement seems to be that applicants must have a stable internet connection. They haven’t supplied any further information regarding the necessary hardware and tech. However, I think it goes without saying that you should, at the very least, have a computer and headset.

The Columbian branch of Callzilla has equipped offices for staff to work in, but there is no news about South Africa.

Pros of working for Callzilla

According to Glassdoor reviews left by current and past employees, Callzilla has a 3.8 out of 5-star rating. An outstanding 83% of staff recommend working at Callzilla.

Entry-level requirements:

Callzilla has very basic requirements in terms of both the experience and technology required to work a remote job. This makes it the perfect first job for recent graduates or even those who wish to make the change to remote working.

Paid twice a month:

Callzilla’s payment schedule is every two weeks. This means not anxiously waiting for the end of the month to make purchases or debit orders going off. You can budget accordingly and comfortably. A reviewer also noted that the company makes payments in a timely manner.

International career exposure:

Working with Callzilla will integrate you into the company’s Colombian and American culture and work ethics. You will meet fellow co-workers from all parts of the world and have the opportunity to work for renowned international companies.

Fully remote working:

Save money and time on commuting as Callzilla is a 100% work-from-home company. You’ll always be early for work. No rushing in the morning; start off your day on a pleasant note. Working from home offers a different type of freedom that you can take full advantage of (granted that you complete all tasks assigned to you).

Cons of Working for Callzilla

Sifting through the online reviews, I managed to find a few negatives that Callzilla employees reported.

Delays with management addressing queries:

A South African Callzilla employee noted that regional management takes a long time to address queries that are sent to them. This must be quite stressful for employees as there will be delays when dealing with clients and customers because they will have to wait for management’s final word before handling a task.

No career advancements:

Working for Callzilla as an entry-level agent comes with few opportunities to advance to the next level of seniority. You will likely stay in the same position for a substantial amount of time. A reviewer stated that it is difficult to meet KPIs, and this, too, will hinder your chances of climbing the ladder.

 Unspecified benefits:

The company website does not make mention of any fringe (additional) benefits that Callzilla offers. This may make applicants quite unsure of what to expect. It also shows that the company is not transparent enough to state the benefits it provides or does not provide.

Application Process

Callzilla has a simple enough application procedure. It is as follows:

  1. When you apply for a position, you will be redirected to a Microsoft Form that you are required to fill out.
  2. Type your full name.
  3. Enter your ID number.
  4. Choose the pronoun that you identify as.
  5. Add your email address.
  6. Add your phone number, ideally one that is also associated with your WhatsApp account.
  7. Enter the city and country that you live in.
  8. Choose the languages that you are fluent in and can confidently communicate in.
  9. Select your level (language proficiency) in the following languages: English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
  10.  Answer whether or not this is your first job.
  11. Submit your application.

Callzilla is making some big headway within the South African job market. It is perfect for anyone, as the requirements are not too specific.
