Hotel receptionist Wanted in Johannesburg at Apollo Hotel
Work area: Ferndale, Randburg
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Services: Welcome guests, verify registration details, assign room keys, and provide an excellent first impression.
- Reservations & Bookings: Manage incoming booking requests, modifications, and cancellations via phone, email, or online systems.
- Answer switchboard calls, route messages, and respond promptly to guest inquiries regarding amenities and local attractions.
- Billing & Administration: Process credit card and cash payments, create invoices, and maintain accurate ledger records.
- Financial Auditing: Reconcile all daily transactions, sales, cash and credit card payments to ensure audit balance.
- End of day Processing: (PMS) to close one business day and open the next.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: Communicate room status and requests with housekeeping and report maintenance issues to ensure rooms meet quality standards.
- Problem Solving: Actively listen to guest concerns, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely, professional solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Min. 2 years working experience in Hotel industry as Receptionist
- Proficiency with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), such as Semper or Nightsbridge or equivalent scheduling software. Strong Computer literacy skills in terms of MS Office
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Experience with Hotel online Portals such as Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda
- Must be able to work Night shifts: 14:00pm to 22:00pm OR 22:00pm to 07:00 Weekends and public holidays.
- Candidate must live around Randburg or near the Ferndale area. (This is not a live in position)
- Must have own reliable transport
- Position is for immediate available only
