To deliver exceptional customer service at the till points, thereby creating a positive, lasting impression as the customer leaves the store. Also, to ensure that Food Supply Chain disciplines are maintained. These disciplines would include health and safety as well as correct food handling and merchandising principles.

Job description

Applies selling skills.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of World of Difference by offering non-Woolworths card customers the Woolworths loyalty card.
  • Offers the customers available services (e.g., utility bill payments and airtime)
  • Meets customers’ needs and expectations by asking, listening to and advising customers as to options/services/products available.
  • Offers alternatives to the customer if the product is not available.

Processes till transactions effectively

  • Processes till transactions efficiently and effectively in line with till policies and procedures e.g., checks scanned price against SKU ticket (product price in FSA stores)
  • Scans and packs efficiently at till point and checks all payments for irregularities.
  • Understands and promote the different methods of payment or transactions (e.g., Gift cards, World of difference cards)

Effective management of stock

  • Implement stock rotation and removes waste while replenishing shelves.
  • Maintain cold chain and hygiene standards while replenishing stock on the sales floor.
  • Ensure stock rotation and segregation is implemented in back areas.
  • Identify and isolate quality concerns / Return to Vendors (RTV’s) while replenishing stock.
  • Identify sell-outs and ensure that the market is pulled forward / faced up throughout the day.
  • Ensures that stockroom stock is represented on the sales floor.
  • Understand the fitting room policy.

Adheres to shop keeping disciplines.

  • Maintain a hygienic, safe and well-organised till point.
  • Ensure that the Gap policy is adhered to while replenishing.
  • Pack shelves according to planograms and shelf edge labels
  • Keeps the department neat, clean and tidy as per the hygiene standards.

Minimum requirements

  • Available and flexible to work different shifts.
  • Relevant working experience in a similar environment will be advantageous.
