Virtual Ophthalmic Medical Receptionist (Fully Remote for US Client)

We are looking for a Virtual Ophthalmic Assistant and Medical Receptionist for a medical eyecare practice. Clinical eyecare industry experience is required and the qualified candidate must be fluent in English. As the front-line employee, your role will be extremely important for maintaining or improving patient experience and satisfaction. Your goal should always be to make patients comfortable and well-informed. As a Virtual Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for various receptionist and clerical duties for the eye care practice.

Job duties and responsibilities 

  • Answer all incoming calls and schedule appointments, redirect the calls or keep messages
  • Answer all the patients questions and queries
  • Gather required information from patients and medical insurance providers
  • Verify medical insurance benefits and submit insurance claims
  • Prepare and manage outgoing mail
  • Check, sort, and forward emails
  • Place supply orders when necessary
  • Monitor and update records and files
  • Provide general administrative support for the practice

Job requirements and qualifications

  • Fluent in English
  • Experience and knowledge with medical insurance verification and submission of claims is a plus
  • Knowledge of common online systems such as Gsuite, MS Office (especially Excel and Word), etc.
  • High School diploma
  • Additional qualifications will be a plus

Other Requirements

  • Flexibility to work hours that align with the client’s time zone (EST).
