About the role
Join our finance team and take the lead on managing accounts receivable, ensuring accurate payments, and keeping records up to date. You’ll work closely with our delivery team to streamline invoicing and collections while supporting wider finance operations.
This is a 6-month FTC, but for the right person, there’s potential for a permanent role—though with automation on the horizon, the future shape of the role is still evolving.
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
Invoice Processing:
- Take ownership of the invoice lifecycle—assisting in the creation, timely issuance, and proactive follow-up of customer invoices to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Collaborate with the Delivery and Finance teams to streamline and enhance the invoice creation process, driving efficiency and accuracy.
Payment Collection:
- Monitor and process incoming payments, ensuring they are accurately applied to outstanding balances to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Proactively follow up on overdue payments, engaging with customers to resolve issues and support a healthy cash flow.
Reporting & Insights:
- Generate and analyse regular reports on outstanding invoices, aged receivables, and payment trends, providing valuable insights to the Finance Director and Leadership Team.
- Identify patterns and opportunities for process improvement to optimize financial performance.
Ad Hoc Support:
- Assist the Management Accountant and wider Finance Team with financial reporting, administrative tasks, and strategic initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and output.
- Play a key role in supporting finance-related projects, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement.
What we need from you:
- Hands-on experience in accounts receivable or bookkeeping – You have a track record of managing financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
- Excel wizardry – Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate data, create reports, and streamline financial processes.
- Tech-savvy with accounting software – Experience with platforms like Xero is a plus, and you’re comfortable learning new tools to enhance financial operations.
- Master of organisation & detail – You thrive on structure, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks while maintaining meticulous records.
- Exceptional communicator – Whether liaising with clients or collaborating with colleagues, you convey financial information clearly and professionally.
- Thrives in a fast-paced setting – You can juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and stay cool under pressure.
- Accounting knowledge is a bonus – A solid grasp of basic accounting principles will give you an edge in this role.
