Online educator / Learning Facilitator (STEM-focussed) for School of Humanity | Remote SA – US Hours (20 Hours a week)
Modality: Fully remote Commitment: part-time with 20 hours of week in GMT-4 (East Cost) time zone.
Please note: we envision this role transitioning into a full-time role from August/September 2024.
Learning facilitators are our key educators at School of Humanity. They facilitate interdisciplinary workshops and live sessions, as well as facilitate personalized learning plans for each learner. Learning facilitators also perform evaluations, feedback, and assessments during learning pathways, and oversee learning attainment for their given group of learners. They support learners in developing their personalized pathways and help map their projects to skills.✔️ Weekly Tasks
On a weekly basis, learning facilitators can expect to:
- Facilitate live sessions and workshops, designed by our learning designers
- Support learners with their interdisciplinary projects and solutions
- Perform assessments, feedback, and/or evaluations
- Ensure learner progress on learning pathways and activities
- Oversee learner progress across curriculum learning outcomes
- Support learners with 1-1 check-ins
- Support learners in cohorts with personalized learning plans
- Identify extended networking and/or portfolio-building opportunities for learners
- Coordinate communication with parents and guardians regarding learning progress
- Support with pastoral care and extracurricular activities

****Our learning facilitators are not expected to be subject matter specialists or lecturers. Instead, they facilitate interdisciplinary learning pathways and guide learners to meet curriculum learning outcomes through their personalized paths. The best learning facilitators know how to curate knowledge/information for their learners and identify the right pathway for their learners.

Previous experience
- Prior experience with teaching or facilitation
- Experience with inquiry-based, project-based, mastery-based, and/or interdisciplinary education
- Expertise in scientific, quantitative, and/or technology fields.

Part-time (20 hours a week), remote (ability to work in GMT-4 time zone is a requirement).
