Get paid to donate your eggs at Baby2mom fertility clinic in South Africa, Johannesburg
About Baby2mom Egg Donor Program
Baby2mom was founded in Johannesburg in 2007. The owner and founder is Jennifer Currie. Since 2007, baby2mom has assisted over 2500 opportunities for contraception done through IVF.
From what I gather, Baby2mom essentially rounds up viable candidates and passes the information along to other fertility clinics around South Africa – sort of like a middleman situation. The information below is sourced from Baby2mom.com and provides broad and generalised information.
Other services offered by baby2mom
The procedures do not happen with Baby2mom; the company simply reviews your profile and eligibility and then puts you in contact with fertility clinics around South Africa. However, aside from gathering egg donors, the company also handles surrogacy candidates.

How does it work when donating your eggs at Baby2mom?
Because Baby2mom is not a fully-fledged fertility clinic, the way it operates is different, and therefore, the process is not the same as that of fertility clinics.
Consultations and medical evaluations
There are no specifications regarding consultations and evaluations with Baby2mom because the company does not provide that. Here’s an idea of what donors can expect:
- At least two doctor consultations; during the first, there will be blood tests done to test for a variety of diseases.
- The second consultation is more than likely about egg donation retrieval.
- Self-administered medication
On the Baby2mom website, there is mention of the egg donor needing to inject themselves. To ensure the collection of the eggs during the egg retrieval process, the egg donor must inject themselves to ‘ripen’ the eggs.
The site provides limited information about this, except that donors will receive more details during their consultation. I can only assume that is because different fertility clinics have different procedures.
The egg retrieval process
Information about this is non-existent on the Baby2mom website. The egg donor program works with other fertility clinics in South Africa, as mentioned above. Each of these clinics provides more information on their respective websites, and while the process seems similar, they present the particulars differently.
Baby2mom does mention that the worst side effect a donor can expect after retrieving the eggs is bloating.
How much do you get paid to donate your eggs at Baby2Mom
Baby2mom provides egg donors with a compensation of anything between R5000 and R10 000

- You will need to complete an entire menstruation cycle first, and on the next one, you can donate again. Donors can donate up to 4 times a year.
What happens to the eggs that I donate?
- The eggs are fertilised with the recipient’s partner’s sperm and are ‘grown’ in special conditions before they are ready to be implanted into the recipient’s uterus. If there are any viable remaining embryos, they are frozen.
What information will the recipient know about me (the donor)?
- All information will be shared via the donor’s profile. It includes but is not limited to, family health history, physical traits and the donor’s personality. Recipients will also see the donor’s childhood picture, which is sometimes included in the profile.
