Zulu Dubbing Translator for Blink Mode Entertainment | Remote SA (R7000 p/m) | part time

We are seeking skilled and experienced freelance Zulu dubbing translators who are fluent in the KwaZulu-Natal dialect to join our team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely and determine your own output, with a minimum requirement of translating 3 scripts per week.

Job Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

1. Fluency in KwaZulu-Natal Zulu:

  • Native or near-native proficiency in the Zulu language as spoken in the KwaZulu-Natal region.
  • Strong understanding of regional dialects, idioms, and cultural nuances.

2. Proficiency in English:

  • Excellent command of English for accurate translation and understanding of source material.
  • Ability to translate idiomatic expressions and cultural references effectively.

3. Translation Experience:

  • Proven experience in translation, particularly in dubbing or audiovisual translation.
  • Familiarity with the dubbing process, including timing, synchronization, and script adaptation.

4. Linguistic Skills:

  • Strong grammatical skills in both Zulu and English.
  • Ability to maintain the tone, style, and intent of the original content.

Desirable Skills:

1. Cultural Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of Zulu culture, traditions, and contemporary issues to ensure culturally relevant translations.

2. Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with dubbing software and tools.
  • Basic understanding of sound editing and recording processes is a plus.

3. Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with directors, producers, and other translators.

4. Attention to Detail:

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in translations.
  • Ability to proofread and edit own work to maintain high quality.

5. Professional Experience:

  • Experience working in a studio environment.
  • Previous work in the entertainment industry, particularly in dubbing or voice-over roles.
