Full job description

The Legal Resources Centre (LRC) is seeking a full-time, energetic Project Support intern based in Johannesburg for 12 months starting in January 2025. The project support intern will provide comprehensive project coordination and assist the LRC’s project team in ensuring compliance with project commitments and the achievement of intended outcomes

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understanding and Supporting Project Objectives: Demonstrate an understanding of the overall objectives of the relevant project, as outlined in the project contract, and support the project’s execution.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Assist in the collection, categorisation, and analysis of data to build comprehensive reports and databases identifying target groups and organisations within specific geographical areas.
  • Technical Skills with MS Office and Google Applications: Use applications such as MS Excel to record and organise project data with high attention to detail and accuracy and utilise Google Sheets to manage and share information across platforms.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Engage with various stakeholders and interest groups to gather and convey essential project-related information.
  • Event Planning: Assist in planning and coordinating project-related events, ensuring alignment with the project’s objectives and timelines.
  • Enthusiasm for Learning and Commitment to Project Outcomes: Maintain a positive attitude that fosters active engagement in diverse tasks, contributing to the project’s overall success.

Educational Requirements

  • Qualification: Higher Certificate in Project Management. A bachelor’s degree in project management would be advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of relevant software and tools used in the respective fields.

Skills Requirements

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex data and provide insightful recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in the NGO and CBO sector would be an advantage.
