Outbound Sales Agent for Takealot | Onsite CT (6 month Fixed-Term Contract)

Join an exciting new team within Takealot. The Takealot Personal Shopper team has a mission to make Takealot more accessible to customers in townships.

The Outbound Sales Agent is responsible for recruiting Personal Shoppers. They need to be a dynamic brand ambassador for Takealot and able to communicate the benefits of the programme and answer any questions. The Outbound Sales Agent will contribute to the overall purpose of the team and will be responsible onboarding our target numbers of Personal Shoppers.

This position reports to the Head of Personal Shopper Programme.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To complete outbound sales calls to pitch the Program to potential Personal Shoppers.
  • To vet potential Personal Shoppers against the specified criteria to make sure we onboard the best candidates.
  • To ensure candidates complete all the steps needed to get them live (vetting, form submission, documents).
  • Contacting and following up with candidates to request additional documentation and information required for applications.
  • To respond to candidate’s objections and queries telephonically and over email, and to resolve complaints and process applications in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To accurately and with a high level of customer service in mind relay positive and negative decisions to clients.
  • To meet the set standards of productivity and quality in the department in order to achieve set KPIs and financial targets.
  • To provide superior customer service across all communication channels.
  • To have an in-depth knowledge of Takealot.com to enable you to impart this information to Personal Shoppers online and telephonically.
  • Good understanding of company rules and policies.
  • To actively engage with stakeholders to ensure that all requests from candidates are managed accurately and timeously.
  • Contribute to a positive team and working environment
  • Ability to multi-task, dealing with new, in progress and decisioned applications in a structured and focussed manner.
  • Ability to work with strict turn-around times ensuring a superior customer experience.
  • Provide detailed feedback gained from customer conversations.

  • Proven experience dealing with Takealot and e-Commerce

  • Ability to deal with difficult candidates and situations in a professional and customer service focussed manner
  • Drive and commitment to making a success
  • Evidences strong interpersonal and team working skills, able to communicate successfully with a wide variety of people across all levels of the business (Operations, E-commerce Managers and Executives)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, pre-empting and problem solving issues as needed
  • Possesses excellent time management and relationship skills able to multi-task and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Driven and self-aware

Qualification & Experience

  • Matric
  • 1-3 years Sales experience
  • 1-3 years Customer Service experience
  • Experience in informal markets / townships
  • Fluency in isiZulu, Sesotho, Sestwana, isiXhosa
  • Microsoft Office, with proven Excel skills
  • Advanced business writing skills
  • Advanced conversational skills
  • Typing skills (minimum 30 words per minute)
  • Creative, innovative and resourceful thinking
  • Comfortable navigating and providing online support where required
