Operations Project Manager for SmartBuyGlasses | Remote SA

We seek a proactive, driven, and resilient Operations Project Manager to work primarily with the operations departments: Customer Service, Logistics, Merchandising, and Supply Chain/Purchasing. This job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end are necessary. The job centers around developing new ideas, systems, and technology and also analyzing and improving old ones.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Operations Project Manager in developing and executing project plans for operational initiatives related to the eyewear retail supply chain, logistics, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Monitor project progress against defined KPIs and milestones, identifying and escalating any issues that arise.
  • Analyse current operational processes and collaborate cross-functionally with IT, customer service, logistics, and other department heads to identify process improvement opportunities and validate the effectiveness of new solutions.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on operational data and project metrics to uncover insights and drive continuous improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day project communications, facilitating cross-functional meetings and workshops and managing stakeholder expectations to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including processes, user guides, and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to developing operational playbooks and best practices to enable scalability across the retail organization.

Qualifications

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficiency in using Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for collaborative document creation and sharing
  • Proficiency in using project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana) and Agile Scrum methodology
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and visualize operational data using Amazon QuickSight or Excel
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques (e.g., process mapping, root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities to work cross-functionally
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate project documentation
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and processes
  • A proactive approach to project management and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Time management and organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and make informed decisions
