Online Jewelry Sales (chat) for Rare Carat | Remote SA

Rare Carat powers over $100m in annual sales by creating transparency in a historically opaque industry using AI and machine learning.

Rare Carat is looking for a Customer Service Associate who is eager to join our remote gemology chat team. The ideal candidate has experience in, and understands, top notch customer service as well as has a passion to educate customers about diamonds and fine jewelry.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the customers, helping as they navigate our site for diamonds, engagement rings and fine jewelry, and assisting them throughout the sales process.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate and assist customers in finding their perfect diamond, engagement ring, or fine jewelry by providing product information, answering questions, and offering recommendations
  • Assist customers throughout the sales process, including processing orders and payments, coordinating shipping and delivery, and following up to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with customers via chat and email

Qualifications: Previous retail sales or customer service experience in fine jewelry required. Candidates without jewelry experience will not be considered for this role.

Your Education and Experience

  • GIA Graduate Gemologist Diploma or similar education
  • A minimum of 3 years selling fine jewelry with a focus on bridal (required)
  • Experienced in jewelry customer service and sales
  • Experience using an education based sales approach – no high pressure sales here
  • Experienced closer using a friendly, outgoing, professional approach

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask – you don’t need 4 arms, but sometimes it may feel like you do
  • Ability to work independently in a very fast-paced environment
  • Must be adaptable to change – working in a remote environment means sometimes processes change quickly
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology
  • Comfortable learning and using multiple different systems concurrently
  • Provide feedback to improve systems and elevate the customer experience
  • Strong typing skills
  • You enjoy working in a team based environment
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Bi-lingual would be awesome, but not required

Location, Hours + equipment needed:

  • 100% remote, work from home – you can work from anywhere in the world as long as you have a strong internet connection!
  • This is a Full-time position. Our chat team operates 24/7 – schedules will vary based on the needs of the company at the time of hire. (At least 1 weekend day is required and some late night or overnight shifts may be possible – 40 hours/week)
  • You will need a desktop or laptop computer + a strong and reliable internet connection
