Nedbank has pledged YES to developing youth employment opportunities, strengthening communities, and improving South Africa.

What is the Nedbank YES programme?


The YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme is a business-led collaboration with the government to reduce unemployment by giving young people the opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable workplace experience, increasing their chances of finding long-term future employment.

Who can apply to the Nedbank YES Programme?


To be eligible for the YES Programme, South African youth must:

  • Be between 18 and 29 years old
  • Have a matric qualification, be unemployed.
  • Be South African-born African, Coloured, or Indian citizens as defined by the BBBEE Act
  • Have not previously participated in a similar program.

How long will Nedbank YES kids be employed, and when will the programme begin?

  • Nedbank YES youngster will work for 12 months to obtain valuable work experience.
  • The YES Programme is not a learning, internship, or apprenticeship program.
  • The programme is set to begin on June 1, 2025.

How much will the Nedbank YES youngsters earn?

  • Nedbank YES youth will receive a monthly stipend as determined by the YES Programme.
  • A stipend is money given to a person to help them pay for their living, food, and travel expenditures.

Where will the Nedbank YES Programme’s work experience take place?

The Nedbank quality work experience programme will be hosted in Nedbank’s numerous sites, branches, and offices across the country, with some positions offering the option of working remotely or hybridally.
Depending on the division, role, and employment requirements, Nedbank YES teenagers may be required to work weekdays or on a shift schedule that includes weekends and public holidays. This means that YES youngsters must be able to travel to and from the workplace.
