We are a Cape Town-based online store that specialises in outdoor and sports gear. Our goal is to equip adventurers with reliable products, and we’re looking for a marketing assistant to help improve our online presence and ensure our products are visible on Google Shopping.

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marketing Assistant with experience in eCommerce SEO and Google Shopping. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that our products appear prominently on Google Shopping by identifying and fixing any visibility issues. You will also assist in improving our overall SEO strategy to drive more traffic to our store.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimise Shopify product listings for Google Shopping to ensure visibility on search results.
  • Audit and improve product feeds using relevant Shopify apps.
  • Conduct keyword research and optimise product descriptions, meta tags, and titles for SEO.
  • Analyse performance using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and other SEO tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with Google Shopping integration.
  • Stay informed on SEO trends and Google Shopping best practices for eCommerce.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Shopify and Google Shopping.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO for eCommerce platforms.
  • Familiarity with Shopify apps such as Google Shopping Feed, SEO Manager, Plug in SEO, and ShoppingFeeder.
  • Experience using SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time well, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Google Ads and paid shopping campaigns.
  • Familiarity with page-building apps like Shogun or PageFly.
