The purpose of the Laundry Operator role is to ensure the successful and efficient performance of Pressure Injury Prevention Rental systems. This requires the Rental Operators to track, clean and disinfect assets, to be pro-active in supply of systems to the Rental Technicians and to ensure quick turn-around and availability at all times.

As the Laundry Operator you will be responsible for:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and dispatching of clean and dirty systems from Rental Technicians
  • Managing the inflow and outflow of rental systems Identify and separate soiled systems
  • Quarantine and disinfect contaminated systems
  • Report damages and/or abuse
  • To ensure all systems in the laundry are manually disinfected, deep cleaned and completed timeously
  • Follow the decontamination process of cleaning pumps and Mattresses
  • Safe storage and use of laundry agents including correct cleaning agents used in correct quantities for each task.
  • To Inspect ,Test systems and identify items needed for replacement
  • Replacement of damaged parts
  • Washing, drying, Assembly, testing and rolling of systems
  • Ensure corrective PPE and clothing attire is used when cleaning Test systems to fully operational standards before dispatching
  • Completing of laundry tracking sheets and repair documents.
  • Assist with completing Installation and cancellation forms when assisting field technicians
  • To keep laundry area clean and free from hazards.
  • Operation of industrial dryer and washing machine
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, stock takes and tagging of systems with serial numbers
  • Assist with other rental activities on the field and in the office when needed
  • Perform Other relevant duties as requested

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years’ work experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be available to work after hours during weekdays and on weekends
