Intake Specialist for PJI Law | Remote SA (R15 000 p/m)
Full job description
PJI Law, a boutique, busy, and fast-growing law firm in the Washington, DC area, has an opportunity for a full-time virtual/remote Intake Specialist. The opportunity is as challenging as it is rewarding, and is ideal for an achiever with a strong work ethic who is looking for a position in which to grow. Training will be provided, and experience in the legal field is not required. Experience in sales is preferred, but not required. The firm has opened up, and is looking to fill, two positions for this role.
Your primary duties as Intake Specialist would be to promptly and professionally handle incoming phone calls and emails consisting in part of prospective clients deciding whether to engage the firm’s services, and you would play a major role in helping them with getting clarity on the problems or opportunities they’re facing, and with discovering the value they would receive in consulting with our team and engaging our firm. It is *not* mere “intake” consisting simply of collecting client data – it is fundamentally a sales position, which in our firm is an opportunity for you to continuously have sincere, caring conversations with people who have various problems or opportunities.
When you are not addressing incoming calls, you will find yourself following up with prospective clients in various stages of their journey to engaging our firm, and contributing your ideas and methods on continuously improving our sales process. You will also find yourself speaking with our current clients to help them identify additional ways they can benefit from our firm’s services, as well as making outgoing calls to our former clients to check in on them and identify new ways to assist them. To be effective at your goal of growing sales, you will be asked to promptly and accurately enter data collected from the calls into our intake software, and to complete certain administrative steps for every prospective client you speak with, in a consistent manner.
Your backup duties will include answering, screening, and directing all incoming calls to the firm (including non-intake calls), all the while making a great first and repeat impression on every caller.
This position requires a person who is positive, energetic, and friendly, who enjoys talking to people, and who possesses a natural inclination to want to help anyone they’re talking to. If you are “moody”, or don’t believe you can treat a call late on Friday with the same spirit, care and attention as a call early on Tuesday, then this position is not for you.
It is also important for you to be thick-skinned, to not take rejection personally, and to have the ability to deal with the occasional difficult caller with grace and professionalism. And since telephone correspondence is a core and significant responsibility of this position, excellent phone etiquette and a corresponding confidence are necessary, as is the willingness and ability to spend a significant part of your day on the phone.
Our firm strives to help and support those who wish to plan for the protection and security of their families and businesses, sometimes in the wake of a personal or professional loss, and this position is crucial in allowing us to effectively help them. We offer long-term growth opportunities for our team members, and maintain reasonable expectations in order to allow for a sustainable work-life balance. You will be working with other friendly, kind, and wonderful members of our team in three different countries who work hard to get the job done right, who take pride in their work, and who support each other through thick and thin.
Our approach has allowed us to succeed and build a happy team, and consequently a strong client base that has caused us to be ranked among the fastest growing law firms in the country. If this approach is consistent with your mindset, we look forward to receiving your application.

You would have approximately 40 working hours per week, Monday through Friday from approximately 9:00am to 6:00pm Eastern Time, meaning 3:00pm/4:00pm until 12:00am/1:00am South African Standard Time, depending on the time of year.
Compensation is in the range of $900-$1,000 per month after bonus payments, paid in U.S. Dollars, with exciting potential for more. A significant part of the compensation will consist of an objective, metrics-driven bonus plan that gives you more control over what you can earn, and that ensures that you succeed when you help the firm succeed (the bonus has no ceiling, and we are looking for someone who will be driven by the bonus plan and who will want to take full advantage of it).
