Job description:

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about finance? IAIAsa (a Voluntary Association Not for Profit with 1000+ members serving the Integrated Environmental Management Profession) is looking for a skilled Financial Administrator to join our team and help ensure smooth financial operations across the association. This role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity, supporting compliance, and facilitating payments, bookkeeping, and branch budget management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Banking & Transactions: Manage bank statements, check balances, arrange foreign  payments.
  • Invoice & Payment Processing: Track invoices, check VAT, manage approvals, and maintain accurate payment records. 
  • Pastel Management: Process payments and journals in Pastel, maintain codes, and troubleshoot as needed. 
  • Customer Accounts: Oversee age analysis, issue customer statements, manage refunds. 
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with National Executive Committee members and branch committees to support financial transparency. 
  • Procurement Compliance: Assist with procurement to ensure regulatory compliance. 
  • Liaise with Treasurer: Approvals are required from the Office Bearers. 
  • Branch Budget Support: Review, send, and monitor branch budgets; assist with event  reconciliations. 
  • Annual Conference Support: Input to budget, sponsorship prospectus, invoicing, debtors, credit notes, receipting, opening Pastel Codes for Sponsorship and Training and any other conference associated income.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Proven experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping for at least 3 years.
  • Knowledge of VAT, general ledger, and Pastel software is a requirement.  
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, communication and social skills.  Ability to work under pressure.
