Community Manager for Peer Effect | Remote SA – CT

We are hiring a Community Manager to lead the charge in managing and growing two vibrant communities: Peer Effect (founder coach personal brand) and District 4 (a recruitment community). You will be responsible for driving engagement, assisting with member recruitment and management, as well as assisting with outreach and getting eyes on our two communities.

As our Community Manager, you’ll work closely with the Head of Growth, as well as the Marketing and Operations team to support both brands’ growth strategies. Your role will require you to creatively engage with our audiences, develop strategic partnerships, keep up with the latest trends in marketing & community management, and deliver an exceptional experience for our community members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase Brand Awareness and Engagement:
  • Actively engage on social platforms (particularly LinkedIn) to make District 4 and Peer Effect (James Johnson) a recognised industry voice.
  • Trendspotting and Timely Content:
  • Stay ahead of trends and create content that resonates with our communities.
  • Build and Nurture Industry Relationships:
  • Networking, networking, networking! Connect with key opinion leaders (KOLs), attend online events and collaborate on guest management for our podcast.
  • Guest Management: reaching out and securing potential podcast guests, as well as managing our recording schedule and sharing our guests’ marketing collateral.
  • Provide Member Support:
  • Advise members on building personal brands, launching LinkedIn profiles, improving landing pages, or any other questions they may have.

About You

We’re looking for someone passionate about community building, with a background in recruitment or experience working with business coaches or recruitment agencies. You should be excited to engage, think creatively, and execute strategies with precision.

  • Industry Knowledge:
  • Experience working in or with recruitment agencies, with a desire to grow your expertise.
  • Copywriting:
  • Ability to craft distinct brand voices and independently write responses, comments, reshares and more.
  • Networking Skills:
  • You love meeting new people and you’re confident reaching out to KOLs.
  • Creative and Strategic Thinking:
  • You bring innovative ideas to the table and are hands-on with implementation.
  • Organisational Skills:
  • You can prioritise tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and structure your time independently.
  • Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role. Preferred: experience with business coaches or recruitment agencies.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Can Upskill if Needed):

  • Public Relations (PR)
  • Email marketing experience (Mailchimp or similar)
  • Basic video editing (CapCut, etc.)
  • Canva
  • HubSpot or other CRM platform experience
  • Basic knowledge of SEO
