About the job Business Development Consultant
As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for the growth and development of the organisations existing clients as well as the sourcing, onboarding, and development of new clients in-line with the organisation’s growth objectives.
Reporting to the General Manager- Sales and Marketing
Paterson Grade: D1
Key Responsibilities:
Systems
- Develop growth strategies, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with various internal departments such as sales, marketing, product management, and finance to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
- Professionally handle customer complaints through to resolution timeously.
- Be involved in specific tasks from time to time as defined by your manager.
- Researching organisations and individuals to find new opportunities.
- Increasing the value of new and existing customers.
- Finding and developing new markets.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Developing and presenting proposals to clients.
- Professionally promote Freedom Won at all times through effective and regular clear communication.
- Participate in and represent organization at client events.
- Conduct company/ product presentations.
Administration
- Monitor and review business development activities.
- Activity update project pipeline.
- Assist with the client onboarding process.
Reporting
- Inform the commercial manager of any high-priority opportunities.
- Provide feedback on performance based on set revenue targets.
- Propose new ideas/processes for identifying business development opportunities.
- Inform the commercial manager of non-standard client requests. E.g., product training or marketing collateral.
Essential Requirements
- Preference will be given to bachelors degree in engineering (Business, Sales, Electrical or related field)
- Technical Experience is imperative.
- Strategic orientation – Links current action to strategies (Own / External).
- Business acumen and industry insights – Develops business plans.
- Conceptual and innovative thinking – new solutions (Strategic)
