Operations Assistant for Paper Plan | Remote SA (R22 000 p/m)

Overview

Paper Plan is in search of an Operations Assistant. This role is for an individual who excels in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on product research and administrative support for the Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities

Product Research (50% of the Role)

  • Collect and aggregate data for market research.
  • Engage with suppliers to obtain and negotiate pricing quotes, ensuring the best cost for quality and delivery terms.
  • Calculate shipping and handling costs associated with product sourcing to determine total expenditure and potential profit margins.
  • Accurately input required data into our product analysis systems to support decision-making processes.
  • Working closely with the product research team lead to align activities with business goals and project timelines.

Supply Chain Support (25% of the Role)

  • Administrative assistance with supply chain activities, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve supply chain issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of supply chain reports to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with shipping agents to negotiate better shipping rates.
  • Handle Requests for Quotations and input data for product cost analysis.
  • Verify and process invoices for payment.

Admin Support (25% of the Role)

  • Manage all written communication with customers.
  • Add new products to the Amazon catalogue, ensuring that all necessary details are accurate and optimised for search.
  • Ensure all listings comply with Amazon’s policies and guidelines to avoid any potential selling privileges issues.
  • Act as the primary contact point for Amazon Seller Support, communicating issues, following up on open cases, and ensuring timely resolution of seller-related problems.
  • Handle ad hoc tasks as they arise, which can vary depending on the business needs, such as promotional campaign assistance, competitor analysis, or assisting with fulfilment and logistics issues.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree.
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Docs.
  • Capable of managing time and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A quick learner who can adapt to changes.
  • Excellent English. You will be required to make phone calls sometimes.

Recruitment Process

– The selection process will involve tests (both paid and unpaid) and interviews via Zoom.

Compensation

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • The job is remote and has a flexible schedule, but requires availability during CET working hours.
  • Salary and quarterly bonuses based on KPIs.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation after one year, with the option for additional unpaid leave.
