Campaign Assistant for Animal Survival International | Onsite CT

Animal Survival International (ASI) and Network for Animals (NFA) are sister fundraiser organizations working to improve conditions for animals around the world. ASI focuses on wild animals, while NFA focuses on domestic animals.

Our organizations are currently seeking motivated, welfare-minded individuals for two campaign assistant roles. These roles, assisting our campaign managers, will require an ability to conduct online/opensource research, build relationships with our partners, help manage partner (“client” relationships) and assist with campaign-related administrative duties.

Importantly, the aim of these roles is to grow individuals into campaign managers who will ultimately run their own animal-welfare campaigns once they have gained the relative expertise.

NOTE: this is a three-month independent contractor position with possibly to extend. Pay based on experience.

Key responsibilities

  • – Conducting online/opensource research
  • – Processing and summarising animal, wildlife and welfare-related content
  • – Preparing information and data for written email appeals
  • – Building and maintaining relationships with our partner welfare organizations
  • – Supporting the campaign managers in gathering any and all appeal-related material, including news items, photos, videos, information from partners, etc

Minimum requirements

  • – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • – Skilled at problem solving
  • – Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow
  • – Detail orientated
  • – Background in marketing and/or research
  • – Good organisational abilities
  • – A keen interest in, and eye for, relevant news stories
  • – Ability to follow relevant media trends
  • – Proactive approach to anticipating relevant animal welfare-related stories
  • – Ability to work as part of a team
  • – Based in Cape Town and willing to work four days per week in office (Westlake)
  • – Two years’ work experience with contactable references
  • – Own transport
  • – Tertiary qualification preferred
  • – Proficient in online research tools, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

We work in an in-office environment (four days a week in-office), in Westlake, Cape Town – this part is not negotiable and we will only consider applicants already based in Cape Town and willing to work in office.
