Administrative Assistant for AFDA | Onsite CT

AFDA is inviting applications for the position of administrative assistant in the School of Live Performance, Cape Town campus.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Reception duties: liaising with public, administrative staff, learning staff and students.
  • Programmes administration: timetabling, attendance capture, working with the data, minute taking, reporting.
  • Course administration: administrative support around coursework, administrative support for contributing lecturers, administrative support for projects and theatre productions.
  • School administration: budget preparation, invoicing and payments; reporting.
  • Student adminstration: managing attendance; record keeping; general assistance; reporting.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Publisher
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Efficient effective organisational and administering skills
  • Strategic planning

Selection criteria

  • Matric
  • Established work experience in tertiary education.
  • Knowledge of the Performance and/or film/television industries.
