Work from Home English Teacher for EF Teach Online | Remote (R84 per hour)

Set up your home office from almost anywhere in South Africa and get ready to teach English online to adult learners from around the world! With our flexible scheduling, you’ll be able to teach group and private lessons at times that suit you best each week. Get trained on how to teach on our sophisticated, but easy-to-use online classroom and scheduling platform. Our academic team provides most lesson materials, so you can skip hours of lesson prep and focus your energy on connecting with the students you meet in the classroom. Though our peak hours are in the afternoon, lessons are scheduled 24/7, 360 plus days a year. Responsibilities

• Conduct 20- to 45-minute conversation based group and private lessons with adult learners.
• Provide after class reports to all students, detailing their progress and on-going recommendations for improvement.
• Keep up to date with all platform and classroom enhancements.
• Manage own teaching schedule.

Requirements

• South African Residency. You must live in South Africa and be in possession of a South African identity document.
• C2 level English speaker with a neutral accent.
• Completed Bachelor’s degree (Compulsory).
• 120-hour TEFL certificate (compulsory). If you do not have a TEFL qualification, you can do your certification during the application process but it must be completed prior to teaching.
• Highly computer literate.
• Professional, energetic, and excited about people.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Other work experience counts.

Must have:

• 10th generation or higher
• 4 or 6-digit identifier but should NOT contain the letter U.

• AMD Ryzen 5 3000 CPU or higher AND
• Nvidia 1050 GPU or higher

• Memory: 8 GB or higher;
• HD: 30GB free capacity, SSD HD;
• Windows ONLY, Windows 10 or higher;
• Browser: Chrome 102 or higher;
• Screen resolution: 1536 * 1024 or higher

Network:

• Uncapped internet
• Download: 10 Mbps
• Upload: 10 Mbps

Peripherals:

• Webcam: 1080P webcam is needed (Logitech C920 recommended);
• Green screen;
• Ring light
• Noise cancelling headphones.
• Backup power source, i.e. UPS or Generator in case of load shedding.

Compensation

• Salary based on hourly rates: from R63.00 up to R84.00 per hour, based on performance.
• All completed hours must be invoiced, and payment excludes any Tax deductions.
