The Ridge School is Hiring a Professional Assistant to the Head of Junior Preparatory in Johannesburg

The Ridge School is looking for a dynamic, passionate, energetic, smart thinker who is drawn to strategic thinking and will approach their responsibilities wholeheartedly to effectively support the Head of the Junior Preparatory. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative and organisational support, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Head of Junior Preparatory’s office by managing schedules, communication and logistics, whilst serving as a key liaison between the Head of Junior Prep and various stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Interact with a variety of stakeholders, parents, children, staff and other educational representatives within and outside of The Ridge School.
  • Possess excellent organisational skills, creativity, self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment whilst upholding standards of excellence.
  • Work in a team based environment that prioritises collaboration with our community.
  • Work after hours and weekends’ when necessary, and be willing to attend meetings and functions when required.
  • Manage the Headmaster’s diary, travel arrangement and general administration.
  • Demonstrate excellent screening skills and the ability to generate responses.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing, communication and research skills.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in the MS Office package offerings.
  • Possess excellent filing and minute taking abilities.
  • Uphold the ethos and traditions of the school.

Reporting Line

  • The role reports directly to the Head of Junior Preparatory.

Entry Level Requirements:

  • Matric (NQF Level 4)

Previous Experience

  • 3 – 4 years relevant experience.

Information Technology: Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic/advanced knowledge of Microsoft /Google package.
