At Don’t Be Sour, we do more than just manage venues. We help them transform and elevate their property, build, manage and execute the entire customer journey, we handle the marketing & sales, maintenance , event management, staffing and more.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6 PM – 2 AM SAST (Los Angeles: 9 AM – 5 PM PST)
Location: Remote, Cape Town
Compensation: Starting at R20 000 base and attractive commissions
Must Haves:
- Fast and reliable WiFi connectivity.
- A reliable laptop or desktop computer.
- Battery backup to ensure continuous operation during power outages.
- A proven track record of success in sales.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the event industry.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
1. Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue potential clients (corporate events, weddings, private parties, concerts, etc.).
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Conduct calls, follow-ups, and email outreach to generate leads.
- Build and maintain relationships with event planners, agencies, and corporate clients.
- Manage CRM to ensure all pipelines are up to date on a daily basis
2. Client Relations & Bookings
- Respond to inquiries, book tours of the venue, and showcase its features.
- Prepare and present customized proposals and pricing packages based on client needs.
- Negotiate contracts and finalize agreements, ensuring profitable margins.
- Maintain an organized database of leads, bookings, and client communications.
- Follow up with potential clients to secure bookings and maintain a high conversion rate.
3. Event Coordination (Sales to Execution Handoff)
- Work closely with the event coordinator or operations team to ensure smooth handover of booked events.
- Communicate client needs, timelines, and specific event details.
- Ensure all necessary permits, insurance, and paperwork needs are communicated for each event.
4. Revenue Optimization & Upselling
- Identify opportunities to upsell venue services such as bar packages, AV equipment, and staffing.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and adjust strategies for improved performance.
- Implement dynamic pricing strategies during peak and off-peak seasons to maximize revenue.
5. Marketing & Brand Awareness
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and sales materials.
- Leverage social media, email marketing, and online listings to attract clients.
- Gather testimonials, photos, and case studies from past events to enhance marketing efforts.
6. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track sales metrics, revenue performance, and client feedback.
- Provide regular reports to management on sales activity, conversion rates, and revenue growth.
