Remote Part Time Social Media Manager Job Available in Cape Town at Women For Change

We are looking for a creative, driven, and ethical social media professional to help us deepen our impact and lift survivor voices. Someone who can design powerful visuals and short videos in Canva, write with empathy and purpose, strategise and analyse outcomes, and stay true to a mission bigger than themselves. Beyond managing social media, we need someone who can also assist with advocacy projects and events, bringing creativity, commitment, and organisational skills to amplify our campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling visual and video content (Canva, TikTok/Reels) highlighting survivor stories, campaigns, and advocacy work.
  • Manage all WFC social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok), including community engagement and sensitive moderation of comments.
  • Track performance metrics and analytics to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the team on projects, campaigns, and events.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years social media experience, with a strong portfolio.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools and analytics (e.g., Meta Business Suite) and project management platforms (e.g., Trello).
  • Background in gender-based violence, activism, or gender justice is highly valued.
  • Passion for survivor-centred advocacy and trauma-aware storytelling.
  • Strong skills in writing, design, and video editing.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to grow into a leadership role after the appropriate time frame and skills development.

  • Probation Period: This role will begin with a trial/probation phase to ensure mutual fit.
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.
  • Hours: 25 hours per week with possibility to grow into full time in 2026.
