Role: Remote Medical Appointment Scheduler (Independent Contractor)
Job Type: Independent Contractor (Remote)
Rate: R90 – R95 per hour
Location: South Africa (Remote)

✅ Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems

✅ Ability to meet all technical requirements listed below (equipment, internet, headset, backup power, second screen)
✅ Willing and able to work U.S. EST hours: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST (6PM-3AM SA TIMES)

About the Role:

Work from home as a Medical Appointment Scheduler with Tyme Global Technologies!

As an independent contractor, you will manage patient appointments, insurance verification, and scheduling tasks while ensuring a positive and seamless patient experience. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with healthcare scheduling experience who thrive in fast-paced environments and want the flexibility of remote work.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Answer inbound calls to schedule or confirm patient appointments
  • Enter new patient data accurately into electronic medical records
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary information
  • Manage appointments for consultations, treatments, and follow-ups
  • Provide patients with clear instructions (test preparations, arrival times, directions)
  • Serve as liaison between patients, clinical staff, and referral sources
  • Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy
  • Conduct pre-procedure calls and confirm medical clearances
  • Schedule follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care

Requirements :

  • High school diploma required; certification/degree in healthcare admin is a plus
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and office software (MS Office, Google Workspace)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage high volumes efficiently
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and professional demeanor
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Technical Skills – Required Proficiency With:

  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Communication tools: Gmail, Outlook, Teams, Slack

Independent Contractor Requirements:

  • Responsible for own taxes
  • Responsible for own equipment and costs

Technical Requirements:

  • Reliable desktop/laptop (Windows 10 or higher – Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3, 8GB RAM)
  • Stable fibre internet line (Minimum 20 Mbs upload and download, latency under 250ms). WIFI and LTE routers not accepted.
  • Noise-cancelling USB headset
  • Quiet, dedicated workspace
  • Power back-up during power cuts
  • A second screen is required
