Part-Time Marketing Assistant in Durban at Epworth School

This is a part-time position supporting the Marketing and Media/Communications team, with a strong focus on digital media and photography. The successful candidate will also assist with the planning and execution of promotional events and contribute to various marketing and communications initiatives.
The successful applicant must be willing, at times, to work outside regular office hours to cover
events/activities.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CONSIDERATION WILL ONLY BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH:

  • A degree/diploma in Marketing/Digital Media, or Communications
  • 1-2 years’ experience in marketing especially in social/digital media
  • Photography skills
  • Strong creative and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Familiarity with analytics and advertising tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and Google
    Ads.
  • Proficiency in using graphic design tools such as Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
  • The ability to work closely and co-operatively with colleagues
  • The ability to uphold the ethos and values of Epworth
  • Working knowledge of SEO and content management systems, e.g. WordPress, would be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • In consultation with the marketing/media and communications team, create social media
    campaigns/content and assist with the day-to-day activity on social media
  • Assist with the creation and design of marketing material and participate in projects and campaigns
  • Analyse and report on key performance metrics, including preparing regular social media analytic
    reports
  • Keep abreast of industry innovations, best practices and emerging marketing trends especially in
    digital media
  • Photography at events, activities and for marketing projects
  • Update photo galleries
  • Provide general support to the marketing team across various projects, events, activities and
    events
  • General administrative duties, including the updating of databases Involvement in the school
  • Attend chapel and assembly, as required
  • Exhibit professional behaviour at all times
