About this role
Location: Prieska
The Site Administrator will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of an operational site by managing documentation, coordinating logistics, procurement- and management of site supplies, and assisting with compliance and health & safety processes, and ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders. The role is vital in maintaining records and supporting site leadership to keep the project on track.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain site office documentation, including project files, daily logs, and compliance registers.
- Monitor and update construction schedules and site reporting systems (e.g., daily site diaries, attendance registers).
- Coordinate site logistics (e.g., deliveries, access control, equipment tracking).
- Assist with procurement processes by preparing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and tracking deliveries.
- Support the Site Manager in ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including the Construction Regulations 2014 (OHS Act).
- Ensure all contractors and visitors are inducted and that site access records are up to date.
- Assist with payroll data collection (e.g., timesheets, attendance).
- Liaise with project stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, and municipal authorities.
- Provide general administrative support (e.g., minutes of meetings, filing, emails).
Required skills and education background
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) required. A diploma or certificate in Project Management, Construction Management, or Office Administration is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of administrative experience in a construction environment.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of South African construction and health & safety regulations
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Able to work on-site full-time, sometimes in remote or changing site conditions
