Junior Bookkeeper Job Vacancy in Durban for Trafalgar

A Junior Bookkeper with vast Tax compliance and Bank reconciliations experince is required for our Durban Branch. Their role involves working closely with HR, finance teams and auditors to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Tax Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulation
• Prepare and file Employee tax returns (PAYE, SDL, UIF.).
• Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documentation.
• Calculate tax liabilities and ensure timely tax payments.
• Liaise with SARS for audits, assessments, and inquiries.
• Stay updated with changing tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in tax audits and assessments.

2. Bank Reconciliation Responsibilities

• Reconcile all regional salary bank accounts monthly.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank transactions and company records.
• Investigate and rectify missing, incorrect, or duplicate transactions.
• Ensure timely posting of receipts and payments in the accounting system.
• Assist in financial reporting by providing accurate bank reconciliation reports.
• Collaborate with internal departments (accounts payable/receivable) to resolve discrepancies.

3. General Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls.
• Maintain and update financial records related to taxes and banking.
• Provide financial reports to management and auditors.
