BACKGROUND:


The Cookhouse Wind Farm Community Trust (CWFCT) is a community owned enterprise with business
interests in wind energy. The Trust is intended to benefit the following towns Cookhouse, Bedford,
Adelaide, and Somerset East.
CWFCT was established to comply with the licencing conditions for the Renewables Cookhouse Wind Farm
Company. This is a project that exists under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer
Procurement Program (REIPPPP), which has compliance requirements where each project should have
community ownership.

DESCRIPTION:

The core purpose of this role is to provide company secretariat duties to the Trust. It will involve working
very closely with the TEO and the Board. The job requires a high level of integrity, maturity and
confidentiality in assisting the TEO with key deliverables and the Board in monitoring the Trust
performance. The job provides a great opportunity and perspective of understanding the Trust and its
work. This role requires a flexible self-driven person comfortable with ambiguity, numbers and legal with a
very strong can-do attitude.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Administration & Support

  • Performs administrative duties for the TEO and the Board.
  • Coordinates resources to gather information and may prepare first draft of various reports.
  • Responsible for ensuring relevant matters are included on board and board committee agendas.
  • Communicating and escalating important issues appropriately
  • Ensures TEO, Board and Board Committee Chairpersons are equipped with necessary documentation to proceed with meetings
  • Attend any other tasks delegated by the TEO and/or Board Documentation storage and repository
  • Ensure proper documentation and storage of Trust documents in hard copies and in share point.
  • Maintain electronic statutory records, including registers of Trustees.
  • Deal with correspondence, collate information and write reports, communicate decisions to relevant Trust stakeholders.
  • Take measures to make sure Trust data is protected.
  • Advise the Board and Management on compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements for records management,
  • Ensure that statutory forms and annual returns are lodged.
  • Act as a central source of guidance and advice on matters of ethics and good governance.
  • Board, Board Committees and Annual General Meetings Support Liaison with the chairperson:
  • o Prepare the agenda
  • o Prepare declaration of interest
  • o Prepare the meeting pack
  • o Send out notices within statutory timelines
  • o Recording and compiling of minutes of meetings and matters arising report
  • o Maintain and archive resolutions register
  • Internal & External Stakeholder Relationship Building

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Tertiary Legal Commercial Qualification or Legal with strong experience in Finance/Accounting or
    Finance/Accounting with strong experience in Legal
  • Minimum of 5 yrs experience in a corporate Legal Financial Services or similar.
  • Environment involving liasing at a senior management to Board level.
  • Project management skills advantageous
  • Advanced powerpoint and excel skills
  • Good understanding of support role
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and analysis
  • Communication & Interpersonal skills
  • Decision Making, gaining commitment, information monitoring, initiating action, planning,
    organising & ownership

Must have a driver’s licence
REMUNERATION: R630,000.00 CTC, (incl. basic salary & any agreed upon benefits such as medical aid)
