Communication and Events Coordinator Job Vacancy in Pretoria at Waterkloof House Preparatory School
Waterkloof House Preparatory School (WHPS) is a traditional, Christian school specialising in the education of boys from Grade 0-7, and Pre-Prep boys and girls, within a nurturing, close-knit environment where future leaders are shaped with care and purpose.
We are currently seeking to appoint a creative and organised Communication and Events Co-ordinator to help showcase the school’s story, strengthen its online presence, and assist with the planning and management of school events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Admissions and Marketing manager, assisting with the coordination of the school’s social media accounts, communication and events.
- Help capture and share key moments from school life, both digitally and on-site, and creating engaging content for the various communication platforms, including social media.
- Maintain records, track engagement, and provide post-event and social media reports.
- Manage the school’s website, ensuring content is up-to-date and engaging.
- Support the planning, coordination, and administration of school events.
- Liaise with staff, parents, and external suppliers to ensure smooth communication and event execution.
- Provide office and admin support to the marketing manager.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), content creation, and basic photography and video creation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a good sense of tone, detail, and presentation.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Skilled in coordinating event logistics, managing suppliers, and assisting with setup, décor, and hospitality.
- Liaising with staff, parents, and service providers to ensure smooth event execution.
- Professional, approachable, and collaborative in team environments.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently when required.
- Flexible and willing to assist at school events outside regular working hours.
