Role and Responsibilities:  

The Student Services Executive role is customer facing, requiring good communication and inter-personal skills, projecting a friendly, open and professional manner at all times when representing the college. We expect our Student Services staff to be team players, able to flex and cover any area outlined below, while getting to develop individual strengths and areas of ownership. In this particular role, we are looking for someone who will focus on our social programme and social media as well as admin tasks, especially around bookings and accommodation. The ideal candidate will be a creative and outgoing ‘people-person’ who enjoys being around our wonderful international students. 

Key tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Opening and closing the school, ensuring everything is ready before the official opening time for students, and ensuring the building is securely closed and presentable during and at the end of the day (depending on shifts).
  • Based at reception, greet all people entering the building in a friendly way and answer all e-mails and telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Keep the college database maintained and up to date with correct student details.
  • Create and run activities for a diverse and fun social programme for all students, in line with our Student Experience promise, including guest lectures, social events and company visits.
  • Create materials to advertise the social programme (in line with brand guidelines).
  • Take responsibility for the welfare, safety and care of students at all times, extra duty of care is required for students under the age of 18.
  • Inform the Student Services Manager and Centre Director of any welfare/ cleaning issues.
  • Collecting and updating student information & flight details (passport, visa information etc)
  • Creating student cards and welcome packs for new arrivals.
  • Conducting regular feedback surveys with current students.
  • Group itinerary bookings.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience:

  • Experience of working with individuals & groups of international students taking part in education programmes (desirable).
  • Experience of safe-guarding of children and best practices (desirable).
  • Experience of working with international clients (desirable).
  • An undergraduate degree and welfare qualification (desirable).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence in administration and attention to detail.
  • Numerate and IT literate with competence in Excel.
  • Creative and adept at social media.
  • Approachable, friendly and caring.
  • Resilient with a flexible, ‘can-do’ approach to work.
  • A team player and able to build rapport and engage with a diverse range of people.
  • Committed to continuous improvement through being outward looking and reflective.
  • Passion to deliver a time of their lives experience to our students.
